Criteria
When some email makes me feel abused, forced or cheated, its metadata
are added to this project. It is possible that a legitimate event or
publication is wrongly included. If I cannot make myself sure within
a minute that the message is trustful, it is spam. In a nutshell:
No tracking —
- No email lists even if there is "unsubscribe" option
- No mass email service before we have established contact
- No trackers in links, images and buttons
No concealing —
- No fake email addresses, domains or IP addresses
- No links hidden behind other texts or images
- No texts as images, except for logos
No begging —
- No asking to write or to review a paper
- No invitation to a conference or to a program committee
- No offers for editing or publishing services, even for free
No impersonating —
- No mimicking other sites or faking IF/SJR metrics
- No sending email from public emails services
- No emails about unknown events or journals, without proper contact
